Gutenberg
WordPress replaced their aging Classic editor with an intuitive drag-and-drop editor called Gutenberg. Things that were difficult or impossible to do in the Classic editor are easy in Gutenberg. These powerful and welcome changes are being expanded to all WordPress, including themes, plugins, widgets.
Gutenberg may break things on sites with older themes and plugins. Therefore, sites need to be checked to insure they are compatible. Themes and plugins that are not Gutenberg-compatible will have problems. So, it’s best to upgrade now, before there are issues. (If your theme doesn’t do all its configuration in Customizer, it’s not compatible.)
